Hireology’s Year in Review 2023

As we bid farewell to another exciting year, we wanted to take you on a journey through our biggest product launches of 2023.

At Hireology, we’ve always been committed to understanding the state of the hiring market for our customers’ industries. We know that 2023 was challenging for any organization hiring skilled hourly labor, and that hiring challenges can have real impacts on your business’ bottom line. That’s why our team was laser focused on improving our product with the ultimate goal of helping businesses like yours recruit better quality talent and make hires faster.

Read on to get a recap of everything we launched to achieve this goal — from enhancements to our integration with Indeed to exciting new automation features and more!

Enhanced Indeed partnership

One of our biggest priorities this year was helping you get more out of your relationship with Indeed, the world’s #1 job site1.

The first of our Indeed partnership improvements was an enhanced XML integration, which means all new or updated external jobs created in Hireology are now sent directly to Indeed via an XML feed. This ensures that your most up-to-date job content is automatically available in Indeed’s search results.

Next was Indeed Disposition Sync, which uses disposition data to help you improve applicant quality over time. Disposition data is information about the status of Indeed applicants within Hireology, like whether or not someone was hired or rejected. With this update, Hireology will now aggregate this information and share it with Indeed which will improve the quality of applicants driven by Indeed over time. 

We also released a new and improved Indeed Sponsored Jobs experience in 2023. This full integration allows users to sponsor jobs on Indeed directly from the Hireology platform — helping you maximize your reach to top candidates and make hires faster all without ever leaving Hireology. On average Indeed Sponsored Jobs result in 55% more applicants than non-sponsored jobs2 and are 4.5x more likely to result in a hire than non-sponsored jobs3

Because of these enhancements, we’re now a Gold ATS partner with Indeed! 

Unprecedented ChatGPT integration

Automation took the world by storm in 2023, and Hireology was no different. We become the first ever true ATS to integrate with ChatGPT with the release of our automated job description writer. This tool leverages generative AI to instantly craft descriptions for new open jobs. By automating the job writing process, you’re able to get new jobs in front of top job seekers faster while also ensuring that your descriptions are inclusive and resonate with top talent. 

We launched several additional features aimed at eliminating manual work for your team. The first was automated missing information outreach, which automatically requests candidates provide additional information on their application. We also launched automated candidate communication. This feature automates routine communication with candidates such as a thank you in response to an application. 

Both of these updates eliminate the manual work required to communicate back and forth applicants just to gather basic information or provide simple updates, helping you speed up your hiring process.

New and improved Inbox experience

This year we also launched significant improvements to Inbox, which is a centralized location within the Hireology platform where users can review and respond to emails and text messages with candidates. 

With this improvement, you can now respond directly to messages within Inbox without having to leave the screen. Additionally, you can see all communication history and relevant candidate information all in one place. The feature allows you to stay organized and respond to candidates faster — helping you ensure that you keep the hiring process moving efficiently and you don’t lose top talent to competitors. 

Strengthened relationship with UKG

Our partnership enhancements didn’t end with Indeed. Earlier this year we strengthened our relationship with UKG — a leading provider of HR, payroll, and workforce management solutions for all people. 

With this collaboration, organizations that use both Hireology and UKG Pro can automatically transfer new hire data from Hireology to UKG Pro as soon as a hire is made — empowering users to get new hires onboarded and up-to-speed faster. Additionally, the integration will unlock complete end-to-end visibility into system data and reporting.

Streamlined campaign management in Hireology Referrals

Additionally, we launched a new campaign manager and added new campaign template options within our employee referral program management tool, Hireology Referrals. These updates are built to help you streamline your referral campaigns and maximize results.

With the new campaign manager you can see performance data for previous referral campaigns, view current campaign status, duplicate previous campaigns, and more. This is a great way for you to get a holistic view of your entire campaign strategy, identify roadblocks and opportunities, and optimize your campaigns moving forward.

We also added several new referral campaign templates, including an onboarding campaign, a new hire campaign, and more. Starting with a template makes it easy to quickly launch campaigns and start driving referrals sooner. Additionally, these templates are optimized based on subject line and content performance data, helping you drive better results from your campaigns.

Security upgrades

Security was also the name of the game in 2023. We also know just how important it is to keep sensitive applicant, candidate, and employee data safe, which is why we’ve built a trusted set of security measures based on industry standard protocols and our own best practices. 

Two of our biggest security enhancements this year included:

  • Multi-factor authentication (MFA): MFA is an extra layer of security (beyond passwords) that requires users to provide additional forms of authentication before you can access your Hireology account. Users have the option to authenticate via text codes or using an authenticator app like Microsoft Authenticator. Research shows that when using MFA, you’re 99% less likely to get hacked. 
  • Single sign-on (SSO): SSO allows users to log in using their existing social media accounts, such as Google or Microsoft, instead of creating a separate username and password. This offers a simplified user experience and enhanced security. You also have the option to access Hireology using a single set of login credentials provided by your organization’s identity provider, which centralizes user authentication and access control. 

Award winning support

Last but certainly not least, we launched a new in-app resource center which offers enhanced self-service digital support. Our new resource center allows you to access all support and help documentation — such as recent product tours, guides, knowledge base articles, and release notes — all in one place. 

Our new resource center is just one of many reasons why we were rated #1 in terms of user satisfaction in the ATS category on G2 this year.
