GM has expanded Hireology’s preferred vendor status to include Parts/Service iMR funding. As of April 2026, GM dealers can use allocated iMR dollars to fund the full Hireology product suite including its Applicant Tracking System (ATS) and Background Checks across both Sales/BDC and Parts/Service departments.

What Is GM Parts/Service iMR Funding?

iMR (Integrated Marketing Resources) is GM’s co-op funding program that allocates money to franchised GM dealers. Historically, Parts/Service iMR funds have flowed toward advertising. Hireology’s new iMR-approved status means dealers can now direct a portion of those funds toward hiring and HR infrastructure instead — an approved, budget-neutral path to building out their staffing systems.

What Does Hireology's GM Preferred Vendor Status Cover?

Hireology is now iMR-approved for both Sales/BDC and Parts/Service departments. The approved product suite includes:

  • Applicant Tracking System (ATS): Post jobs, manage candidates, and move applicants through a structured hiring process built for dealership roles.
  • Background Checks: Run compliant, role-specific background screenings without leaving the platform.

Why GM Named Technician Hiring a Corporate Priority

GM’s expansion of Hireology’s iMR approval reflects a strategic shift: the automaker has identified technician hiring as a named corporate priority. The designation of Hireology as the preferred solution confirms that the right response to the technician shortage is a systems investment, not a recruiting spend. Dealers spending iMR dollars on advertising while fixed ops staffing falls short are solving the wrong problem with the right budget.

How Hireology Is Built Specifically for Automotive Dealerships

Hireology is not a generic ATS adapted for dealerships. Hireology is built from the ground up for how dealer-owned businesses hire. Dealerships fill roles across Sales, BDC, Service, and Parts simultaneously, against a tight labor market, with different candidate profiles for each position. Hireology’s workflows, job templates, sourcing channels, and screening criteria are configured for automotive roles by default.

Existing Hireology customers not yet on the full product suite have a clear path to expand. Dealers within larger dealer groups that already have a Hireology relationship have the simplest on-ramp, since the platform relationship is already established.
