Brightstar Care is one of the nation’s leading home health care providers, helping provide care and wellness for tens of thousands of patients across the country. In 2015, Brightstar corporate selected Hireology as the preferred applicant tracking platform for their 200+ locations nationwide. By working closely together, Hireology and Brightstar Care established a uniform hiring process for all Brightstar locations to ensure consistency and compliance across all locations.

Unified hiring process
Beyond the centralized process, Brightstar and Hireology partnered to establish best practices for job descriptions, hiring steps, and pre-screen surveys to ensure individual hiring managers at each Brightstar location – who were already stretched thin – could concentrate on managing their locations instead of administrative-intensive tasks.
With a new hiring process in place, Brightstar Care could also focus on building a strong employment brand across the 200+ locations. A home health care provider like Brightstar had a considerable reputation to uphold, so a consistent applicant experience was desired no matter where a potential employee was located.
Beyond establishing a process and building a brand, Hireology partnered with Brightstar care in 2018 to test our next-generation sourcing suite known as Applicant Engine. With the difficulty to find caregivers and registered nurses across various markets, Brightstar relied on Hireology’s programmatic solution that reached job boards, social media, and niche caregiver networks at scale to find great home health care talent, with promising results.
By partnering closely with Brightstar, Hireology has helped these locations hire tens of thousands of people, and screen many more, saving managers countless time from the overall hiring process.
For many top applicants, the career site is the first introduction to the brand. Hireology helped Brightstar transform their career site efforts into an online experience that convinces top caregiving talent to apply. Across all locations, Brightstar career sites drive 11% of total applicants and are responsible for 45% of all eventual hires. With the need for great caregiver talent only increasing, having the career site be a critical recruitment tool is setting up Brightstar locations for long-term success while decreasing the need for paid job boards and other recruiting efforts.
One of the latest tools Hireology is partnering with Brightstar on is Applicant Engine – Hireology’s newest sourcing solution that leverages automation to bring qualified candidates directly to our customers without the need to manually manage job boards. While we’re in the initial testing phases for in-demand home health care roles, we’ve seen promising results. In a recent effort with several Brightstar locations, we’ve been able to deliver 403 applicants as a result of our sourcing efforts – and 36% of these have been seen by the hiring manager as “quality applicants.” This means the applicant was qualified enough to make it to the interview round – significantly outperforming the quality rates of organic and paid job boards.
We’re excited to continue testing Applicant Engine as a new, strategic and cost effective way to source applicants while freeing up hiring manager time.
