Yesterday, we unveiled Hireology’s mobile app to help speed up your hiring process even more. We had some questions come in from our audience that we wanted to share here with all of our customers who may be interested in trying the new app. Also, if you missed our mobile app webinar and want to check it out, you can watch it now!
Mobile App FAQ
Other than when declining or advancing candidates, is there a way to use our Email and SMS templates?
With the first release, email and SMS are only available as part of the applicant review process. The team has started development on expanding communications to allow you to communicate with candidates throughout the hiring process. We are excited to share this work with you closer to release.
Can you personalize new email templates?
Currently, you can customize the individual messages, but not the templates. This feature will also be part of the expanded candidate communications.
I use the Hireology web experience on my phone. Why would I use the app if I can just review new applicants?
We are so glad that the mobile optimized web application is working for you! The development of native mobile apps will allow Hireology to provide features such as improved resume viewing and notifications. We will continue to support the mobile optimized web application for those users that utilize it.
Can you add a disposition code to candidates who are rejected?
Yes! If your organization utilizes disposition codes they will be available in mobile like they are in the desktop application.
When you call the applicant from your app, which phone number will show up — the recruiter’s cell number or the company number?
Placing a phone call utilizes your device’s native functionality, so your personal number would be displayed for the applicant. If you communicate with the applicant via SMS in the app, your personal number will not be displayed for the applicant.
Will other features like searching for candidates be added to the app in the future?
Yes, being able to search for candidates within the mobile app is planned work.
Will the scheduled reject letter option be available for desktop as well?
Currently, scheduling the rejection letter is only available within mobile, but it will be added to desktop in the future.
Can you only view jobs that have you listed as hiring manager?
You do not have to be the hiring manager to review jobs, but you do need to be part of the hiring team in order to view applicants. Users that are admins will still need to be added to the hiring team to review applicants via the mobile app.
Does this app show open applications when the app is idle? Will the icon show the number of applicants like email does, or does the app need to be open?
Notifications, including badges on the app icon, will be included in an upcoming release.
Does the “Advance” button move the applicant to candidate?
Yes! Clicking “advance” moves the applicant to candidate.
I have candidates who I reviewed on the desktop site, but kept in the “Applicant” section and see that these candidates are still listed on the app as needing review… Is there a way to change this so that it will only show me the new applicants?
Currently, they will still be shown on the mobile app.
When I click on an applicant to “Advance,” it picks the in-person interview email automatically. How do we change that so it picks the phone screen email first?
Currently, you can customize the individual messages, but not the templates. This feature will also be part of the expanded candidate communications in an upcoming mobile update.
When is the Inbox functionality coming? 🙂
The team is hard at work! 🙂 It is fantastic to know this is a feature that will improve your user experience.
Can we view the history of each candidate?
The email and SMS history is available for applicants in the mobile app today.
