Every month, we spotlight a different Hireology employee who has had an inspiring professional journey in our Career Mobility Spotlight series. For August, we’re shining a light on Kenley Sweet, who started at Hireology in June of 2022 as a Digital Marketing Strategist and has most recently been promoted to our Lifecycle Marketing Manager. Read on to learn more about Kenley’s path here at Hireology.
When did you start with Hireology? What role did you start in? What role are you in currently?
I started at Hireology in June, 2022 as a Digital Marketing Strategist. I am now the Lifecycle Marketing Manager.
Describe how you’ve grown professionally since you started working for us.
I’ve been at Hireology for over 2 years now and it’s crazy to think of how far I’ve come in my career in such a short time. Since starting, I’ve become a more well-rounded marketer. Thanks to the amazing leadership we have here, I’ve been able to work closer with other departments which has exposed me to different aspects of marketing. From customer marketing to product marketing and being more involved in analyzing the impacts of our efforts, I’ve grown so much at Hireology.
What have been your most significant achievements working for Hireology?
Since starting at Hireology, I’ve had the opportunity to be a part of a few large projects that positively impacted the company. But the one that stands out to me is my work on our lead scoring model that allowed the marketing team to provide the most quality leads to our sales organization. The scoring model is also easier to update and maintain which was a pain point we had in our previous model.
What’s the best advice you can give to someone who is looking to move up in their role or has shown interest in a different role or department?
The advice I’d give is to learn as much as possible about the new role or department you’re looking to move into. Take any courses, watch helpful videos, or even reach out to someone who is in the role you’re looking for and see if you can shadow them for a day. This will help show initiative and give you all the information you need to make sure you are prepared for a new role.
What do you like about our company culture?
My favorite thing about our company culture is the collaboration we encourage throughout the entire company. No matter what the problem is we’re addressing, we’re always encouraged to work with other departments to find the best solution. Being on the marketing team, I’m constantly working with sales, revenue operations, and customer success which gives me the opportunity to learn from people outside of my organization and discover different ways of thinking.
What makes you want to stay at our organization?
It sounds cliche but it is the people. There’s something so special about the culture at Hireology and the people truly embody it. Everyone here is hard-working and inspires me in my career daily. Our leadership team is phenomenal and I feel so lucky to work with such incredible, knowledgeable professionals every day.
What is the best advice you would give to someone just starting at the company?
If I could give every new Hireologist a piece of advice, it’d be to not hold back. There’s so much opportunity to grow in your career here, but it only happens when you believe in yourself and speak up with your ideas. No idea is a bad idea and you never know the impact you can have until you share your ideas.
Which one of Hireology’s Core Values or belief statements resonates with you the most? Why?
If I had to pick one core value that resonates with me the most it’d be eager to improve. To me, constantly improving myself and my work is extremely important. There’s always a better way to achieve results or an opportunity for new, refreshing ideas to help us achieve our overall business goals. The challenge always drives me to be a better marketer.
