At Hireology, we put an emphasis on cultivating a work culture that caters to the employee experience. In fact, our leadership team prides itself on striving to make Hireology the best place you ever work.
Achieving this goal takes dedication and intention, which you can find in our competitive pay, benefits, and remote work options — but we don’t stop there! Our career growth opportunities and mobility offerings are top of class too; we want to support our people no matter where they are in their career so that they are fully prepared to make their next move, regardless of where that move may be. Each year, hundreds of employees experience both traditional and non-traditional career growth at Hireology. These opportunities allow them to expand their skills, gain new experiences, and feel fulfilled in their day-to-day work.
Each month, we’re featuring a different employee who has grown professionally at Hireology in our new Career Mobility Spotlight blog series. For July, we’re focusing on Katie Villano, former Sales & Success Development Representative (SSDR) turned Customer Success Manager (CSM). Katie’s career at Hireology is a prime example of a traditional career path at our organization.
When did you start with Hireology? What role did you start in? What role are you in currently?
I started in July 2019 as a Sales & Success Development Representative (SSDR) then became a Customer Success Agent (CSA). I am currently a Customer Success Manager (CSM).
Describe how you’ve grown professionally since you started working for us.
Since starting at Hireology, I have been able to grow my skill set in both sales and customer success while continuing to learn about other areas of the business. I started with a focus on the retail automotive side, but when I became a Customer Success Agent I quickly learned more about our healthcare and PCS verticals. As a Customer Success Manager, I solely work with our retail automotive customers and have grown to learn the ins and outs of the business while keeping up with industry trends.
What have been your most significant achievements while working for Hireology?
My most significant achievements include being promoted to the roles that I worked toward, hitting my goals and KPIs, and making a positive impact on our customers.
What’s the best advice you can give to someone who is looking to move up in their role or has shown interest in a different role or department?
My advice to anyone who is looking to level up in their current role or move to a new department is to talk with your manager, managers of other teams, and your peers. I am always vocal on my personal goals during my 1:1s, plus I enjoy shadowing my peers from time to time to get a better understanding of their day to day and how I would be able to make an impact in that same role. Shadowing calls and talking with other members of the team is a great way to gain new skills and knowledge. Ask questions, be curious!
What do you like about our company culture?
I like that our company practices our core values daily and how we recognize our peers each week in the company-wide huddle. I like that we utilize Slack to stay in touch with one another and connect on different levels outside of work. I like that we are always striving to be better and give back to our community.
What makes you want to stay at our organization?
The people that I get to work with every day make me want to stay! I also want to stay because I know that there are plenty of opportunities for career growth and development which is not something that is available everywhere.
What is the best advice you would give to someone just starting out at the company?
Get involved! Join Slack channels, learn about our DEI Council, raise your hand to volunteer for different events, and sign up for job shadow week! Talk to your teammates and manager or throw 15 minutes on someone’s calendar and just talk. Ask any and all questions you have.
Which one of Hireology’s core values or belief statements resonate with you the most? Why?
Pathological optimism is the core value that resonates with me the most because no matter what is thrown our way, everyone here finds a way to stay positive and work through things with a smile on their face.
