Hireology Career Mobility Spotlight: Brian O’Shea

At Hireology, creating a work environment that enhances the employee experience is a top priority. In fact, our leadership prides itself on going the extra mile to make Hireology the best place you ever work.

Achieving this ambitious goal takes dedication and intentional business design, which you can find in our competitive pay and benefits — but we don’t stop there! Our career growth opportunities and mobility offerings are top of class too; we want to support our people no matter where they currently are in their careers so they are fully prepared to make their next move, regardless of where that next move may take them.

Each year, Hireology offers employees the opportunity to develop professionally in both traditional and nontraditional routes. These windows allow employees to expand their skills, gain new experiences, and feel fulfilled in their day-to-day work knowing what needs to be done to punch above their weight and reach their full potential.

Every month, we’re going to shine a spotlight on a different Hireology employee who has grown professionally in our Career Mobility Spotlight series. For March, we’re shining a light on Brian O’Shea, a former Customer Success Associate who has worked his way to Senior Implementation Manager over the last five years.

When did you start with Hireology? What role did you start in? What role are you in currently?

I started in July 2019 as a Customer Success Associate (CSA). I am now a Senior Implementation Manager.

Can you describe how you’ve grown professionally since you started working for us?

I came to Hireology with very little life experience and feel I have truly grown as a person personally and professionally over my almost five years here. During my time as a CSA, I had to adapt to an ever-changing employment market, which brought different challenges I had to learn to navigate. Now using the skills and knowledge built during my time as a CSA, I feel much more confident in providing strategic support to our customers and knowing in which ways our product can best help!

What have been your most significant achievements while working for Hireology?

Post-COVID, I helped mentor and train new CSAs on our team while we navigated the new remote work environment. I then transitioned to my current role as Implementation Manager and began working towards my most recent promotion. I was also a part of Hireology’s first President’s Club.

What’s the best advice you can give to someone who is looking to move up in their role or has shown interest in a different role or department?

Have a long-term view of your career and ask yourself where you want to be a year from now. It can be easy to develop tunnel vision and just focus on what needs to get done that day. Network as much as you can, as you will not only understand the business from the perspectives of different teams but it will also help you find the career path best suited for you!

What do you like about our company culture?

Our People Team does a really great job of attracting people from all different backgrounds who embody our Core Values. I can confidently say that the people I work with each day genuinely care about doing good work!

What makes you want to stay at our organization?

My fellow IMs are the most supportive, collaborative, and hard-working group of people I’ve worked with in my time here. It’s a privilege to have the opportunity to work with such great people every day.

What’s the best advice you would give to someone just starting at Hireology?

Build a daily routine that incorporates a good work-life balance and stick to it. Having the continuity of a daily routine can help slow things down in stressful times!

Which one of Hireology’s Core Values or belief statements resonates with you the most? Why?

No Assholes. I feel this embodies Hireology’s culture the most, as it’s reflected in the people I work with every day and is something I strive for in both my personal and professional life — to be a good person!
