Social Recruiting has been a hot topic in the recruiting world this past year. It is a great way to put your brand in front of people and interact with your future new hires in the social media worlds they live in. Here is a tutorial that will let your candidates apply right through your Facebook page with Hireology’s careers widget in 5 easy steps. Social recruiting has never been easier!

Step 1: We need to get a basic HTML Tab on your Facebook page. Make sure you are logged-in to facebook and go to the “Static HTML: iframe tabs” app. Something to note, you do have to be an admin on your company’s Facebook Page in order to add the app.

Step 2: Select the button that says “Add Static HTML to a Page. It will ask you which page you would like to add it to and select your company’s page. Select the button that says “Add Static HTML: iframe tabs” and that is it, you now have an iframe tab on your facebook page!

It will bring you to your FB page, and this is where we are going to add in your Hireology jobs. First, click on the little grey star app on the left that says “welcome”.

Step 3: We are going to want to change it from “Welcome”. I would suggest “Careers” or “Company Name Careers”. Here are the steps to do that:

  • To change name of your tab, click “Edit Info” when you are on your page to bring up the admin settings. Select “Apps” from the left sidebar. Then under the Static HTML app (look for the star icon) click “Edit Settings.” There will be an option to type in a custom name for your tab there.

Step 4: Almost done, it is time to add your careers widget! Now go back to your app and let’s get that widget on there. To access your careers widget you will need to Log-In to Hireology and go to “settings” at the top and click on the “careers site” sub-tab. To get the code to add to your facebook page, you simply scroll to the button and select the link “Click here for your Widget code”. Go back to Facebook and click on the tab with the star and you will see a blank screen to add your html.

Step 5: Copy that code and paste it in top box, hit save, and you are done!  It is a simple HTML box, so with a little code, or just plain writing, you can add some calls to action or company descriptions, links, whatever your heart desires. Here is an example of how one of our customers, Homescout Realty, a chicago based real estate company, implemented it on their page:

So right from your Facebook Page, they can select “apply” and you can start recruiting directly from Facebook!
