Out with the old, in with the new.

We all know that Gen Y’ers are obsessed with all forms of technology, whether it be phones, computers, software, apps, etc. These millennials have grown up being surrounded by technology and their lives revolve around the up-and-coming new releases. Even more, their everyday life is completely consumed by technologies. Most millennials prefer to use technology in the workplace.

For employers, it is important that they take advantage of this information if they want to hire millennials. Taking into consideration the fact that millennials are using technology for almost everything will give employers a one-up on other companies.

For example, Seth Fiegerman talks about an app called Cotap that is essentially a communication app that was designed for company use. It’s a much quicker and easier way in comparison to the stone-age email route. Implementing this type of technology into the workplace allows for a more innovative environment.

Although this app is still very basic, it is planned that there will be many more advancements made. With these advancements will come copycat apps, and soon this form of communication in the workplace will be the everyday norm. If companies jump on the bandwagon now when it’s still relatively new, they will have an advantage over companies following in the future. After all, millennials are all about technology, especially the new releases and advancements.
